I don’t agree that universities should spend the same amount of money on their students’ sports activities when they give to their university libraries because the most important thing is learn to students. Also we need to increase the quality of teaching and reputation of university by investing more money on libraries.

First, if universities spend the same amount of money to their students’ sports activities, it will decrease the teaching quality of universities. In fact, the budget in each university is limited. If we increase amount of money to students’ sports activities, it means we will reduce the amount of money to libraries. According to the Education web.com, libraries are key to improve the quality of teaching in university.

Secondly, it will increase the reputation of universities if they put more money to their libraries. For example, China-Europe Business School is a young college that set up in 1900 in China; however, it has become one of the best business colleges in China. Why does it can develop its reputation very fast? That is because China-Europe Business School has built and owned the biggest library in china.

Thirdly, students’ sports activities are less important than studying for students in university, so we needn’t give the same amount of money to it as we put on the university libraries. As a matter of fact, the most important thing is that learn in university, such as reading more books, collecting information and researching the topic. So we should put more money on libraries that provide resources for students to learn.

In summary, I don’t support that putting the same amount of money to students’ sport activities as we invest on libraries. The reason is that learning is the most important thing for students. Also, we need to invest more money on libraries to increase the quality of teaching and reputation of university.

I do not think universities should spend the same amount of money on sports as on libraries. University budgets are limited, and learning is more important than sports. So universities need to increase their academic reputation and their quality of teaching by investing in libraries.

Learning Is More Important

The most important thing in universities is learning, which involves reading books, collecting information and researching topics. So universities need to provide their students with high quality learning resources by putting more money into libraries. Although television presents student sports as important, in the real life of university students, learning is more important than sports. Universities should spend less money on sports and more on libraries.[1]

Reputation

Universities can increase their academic reputation by investing in libraries. For example, China-Europe Business School is a young college set up in 1900; however, it has developed a reputation as one of the best business colleges in China. How did its reputation develop so fast? It built and owns the biggest library in china.[2]

Quality of Teaching

Universities need to increase the quality of their faculty’s teaching by investing in libraries. According to EducationWeb.com, libraries are the key to improving the quality of a faculty’s teaching in any university. University budgets are limited. So by giving more money to libraries than to sports, universities’ sports programs might not increase their television time, but the quality of their faculty’s teaching will improve.

In summary, I support putting more money into university libraries than into student sport activities. In university life, learning is more important than sports. Therefore, to increase the quality of student learning and thereby the reputation of universities, universities need to invest more money in libraries than in sports.

[1] Notice “spend on” but “invest in.”

[2] Alternative: This college developed its reputation by building and maintaining the biggest library in china.
