This student’s English is so advanced that the help I gave was very close to the way I help my American students.
I have a strong ability to adapt to the environment, kindness, optimism, sense of humor, braveness to face challenges to describe me.
From 2010 to 2012, I worked as head of my class during my school charity sale for three consecutive years, responsible for staff arrangement, commodity pricing, statistics of earnings and so on. I faced great difficulties in these activities.
When I was head for the first time, I didn’t have much experience, knowing almost nothing about how to do charity sale. However, I decided to accept the challenge when my classmates elected me.
In the activity, I gradually set up the confidence, and not only improved the ability of leadership, organization, communication and team cooperation, but also applied some knowledge of economics to practice.
Many students donated items, for example, were not suitable for charity sale and could not be sold a good price. Finally I took propaganda and pleading, successfully sold them at a high price to those teachers who hoped to contribute to this charity sale.
For the second time as head, I set a list of acceptable donations before the activity and this made the charity sale going very well. At the third time, I further organized my classmates to do donations packaging, slide show and venue decoration, in order to make the activity more successful.
Working as head of my class during school charity sale for three consecutive years. In these activities, I not only improved my ability and got the praise from my teachers and classmates, but also helped those in need of help.

In order to realize my career dream, I hope to get the best education in the world. My father went to the university of ____________’s ____________ school of business in 2003, as a visiting scholar, and my aunt went to the United States in 1997, and completed university and MBA education there. Both of them have a profound experience and understanding of these two kinds of education system. In recent years, some good students in my class chose to go to the United States for high school education. Through their introduction, I am very eager to get an enlightening, innovative and diversified education system like the one in US. In order to experience American society and education early, I want to enter a good high school in US and one of my ideal universities in the future.
I understand Gill St. Bernard’s School is located in a beautiful town near New York City, has 100+ years history, and provides a rich curricular and extracurricular experience. I have learned that every year its graduates enter top universities in the United States.
Yes, I intend on applying to excellent high schools like Gill St. Bernard’s.
Different culture and environment are definitely challenges for me, but my father and some friends had experiences living in the United States. I know a lot from them and I think I am ready to live and study there. By the way, I like challenges, and I like try something new.
I think the most difficult is to understand the new culture, because it is so different with the Chinese culture. However, the good thing is that I have the chance to experience different cultures and broaden my horizons.
My father is a senior manager of ________________. He is a good manager at the bank, and is also a man of many interests in life. He is good at table tennis, and won the championships in contests. He also loves Peking Opera, Weiqi, antiques collecting, tea ceremony, and so on. His wisdom and generosity influence me a lot.
I learned that there are two special futures of Gill St. Bernard’s School. One is “The Unit”, and the other is “VOTES”. I am very interested in them, would you please give me a short introduction?
I adapt. I know how to fit in. I’m kind and optimistic. I can laugh at a good joke and face up to my challenges.
Three years in a row I headed up our class charity sale (2010-2012). I recruited workers, set prices, and kept track of our earnings. Each year, all our hard work paid off with a large contribution to charity.
I had no experience and knew nothing about how to do a charity sale. But when my classmates showed such confidence in me, it gave me the heart to do the job.
As we got started, little by little my own confidence increased. The job taught me how to lead and organize. I found how important it is to keep everybody in touch and with a job to do. And it was fun to put into practice a few of the things we had been studying about economics.
My first time leading the charity sale, too many donated items just did not look good enough to bring much of a price. I had to resort to propaganda and pleading to get teachers to pay good prices.
So the next year I set a list of acceptable donations, and we got off to a much better start. The third year I set up teams to put donations in attractive packaging, to create a slide show, and to decorate our venue. We had a grand success!
No doubt about it — leading our class charity sale for three consecutive years taught me skills, brought me praise, and helped needy people.
